My name is Rachel McGlasson. I’m a 20-year-old Communication major and English minor at Truman State University. I live in America’s heartland on the average budget of any small town college student.
I estimate I spend about 5 hours a day online not including studying. I compulsively check my Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and email. No matter where I am my phone is always within arm’s reach. If I have even the slightest pause in my day, I check for new texts. I have an existential crisis when I leave my phone at home or forget to charge it up for the day. Now, I think it’s time all of this needs to change.
